Overview

¾«Æ·SMÔÚÏßӰƬ convenes a monthly LGBTQ Task Force to address district-wide policy, program and training issues related to supporting LGBTQ students.  It’s goal is to help foster school environments that are welcoming and safe for all.

The LGBTQ Task Force has been meeting for 10 years and includes students, parents, school staff, administrators and community members.  The Task Force meets once a month during the school year at different ¾«Æ·SMÔÚÏßӰƬ campuses.  Everyone is welcome to join.  Please click below for a schedule of meetings this year.

What is a Charter School?

A charter school is a public school with no tuition, or stipulation for entrance. They are allowed the freedom to be more innovative while being held accountable for improved student achievement. Any student that is of the right age and grade level can apply. Independent of the school district, charter schools are exempted from many of the statutes and regulations that apply to school districts. Charter Schools specific goals and operating procedures for charter school are detailed in their charter petitions. Typically chartered every five years.
