The Governing Board desires to provide a safe school environment that allows all students equal access and opportunities in the district’s academic and other educational support programs, services, and activities.

Non-Discrimination on the Basis of Sex
Sexual harassment violates federal and state law as well as the Sacramento City Unified School District’s Board Policies and Administrative Regulations – 4119.11(a) and 5145.7(a). By definition, “sexual harassment includes, but is not limited to, unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal, visual or physical conduct of a sexual nature made by someone from or in the work or educational setting.”
Williams Uniform Complaint Procedures
The district shall use uniform complaint procedures to address Williams’s complaints regarding insufficiency of instructional materials, emergency or urgent facilities conditions that pose a threat to the health and safety of pupils or staff, and/or teacher vacancy or misassignment issues as provided in Administrative Regulation 1312.4.

Uniform Complaint Procedures
The Governing Board recognizes that the district has the primary responsibility to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations governing educational programs. The Board encourages early resolution of complaints whenever possible. To resolve complaints which may require a more formal process, the Board adopts the uniform system of complaint processes specified in 5 CCR 4600-4670 and the accompanying administrative regulation.
