District Wide Advisory Committee

Purpose of the Career Technical Education (CTE) District Wide Advisory Committee:

The Sacramento City Unified School District Career Technical Education Department is responsible for development and implementation of career technical classes. According to federal and state guidelines, these classes should be organized into a scope and sequence and meet industry standards. It is important for the CTE committee to be comprised of a variety of people including, but not limited to: business partners, community leaders, parents, students, educators and other interested parties.

What is a CTE Advisory Committee?

Career Technical Education (CTE) programs in the Sacramento City Unified School District are served by a District-Level CTE Advisory Board and Individual CTE Program Advisory Committees. These committees are made up of parents, students, teachers, representative of business and industry, labor organizations, representatives of special populations, and other interested individuals. Committee members are involved in the development, implementation, and evaluation of secondary CTE programs throughout the district.

This work becomes more focused in our high schools which are the launching pads to life after graduation. Because our students have varied dreams, ¾«Æ·SMÔÚÏßӰƬ offers a variety of high schools and programs and courses within our high schools to appeal to a variety of learners.

If you are a high school student already enrolled, cheek out the many opportunities on your campus for career technical education (CTE).Chances are that you are already a member of a small learning community on your campus. Your lead teacher or counselor can provide much of this information.
